Description

Today, Bayer offers over 300 Patient Support Programs (PSPs) through which we support thousands of patients and their caretakers world-wide, by helping them manage their treatment and improve disease outcomes. At Bayer, we view PSPs as an opportunity to engage with patients in order to gain deeper insights into what is important to them.

The former one-way communication pharmaceutical companies have introduced to support patients with adherence to therapy, is now moving towards a more collaborative approach. The key challenges still are how to uncover the individual and most relevant disease and therapy burden, determine which support is most valued by patients, uncover gaps in the design of current services, and determine how to best systematically adapt the support over time, to continuously respond to medical needs of patients.

Bayer is continuously increasing its awareness and empathy of patients and transform insights into more effective support programs that reflect real world challenges related to treatment and/or disease outcomes and the needs of these individuals. Throughout our patient services we strive to:

Useful information

Provide patients (and clinicians) with coherent, high-value support to maximize safe and effective use of Bayer products.

As a healthcare company, we continuously monitor patients’ experiences with our products. Through these programs, if patient insights are collected, we receive information on how patients are managing their illness, responding to therapy, including whether they have experienced adverse events. Collecting and interpreting all safety relevant aspects enables us to regularly update and manage the Benefit-Risk profile of our products to protect the health and wellbeing of patients.

The benefits of strong, customized, culturally relevant patient programs are immense, and, if successful on a large enough scale, have the capacity to change disease trends for the better.
